Psalms 119:97-98

97 Oh, how I love your law!
I meditate on it all day long.   That is an awesome statement for anyone to say.  David is stating his passion for God’s word, his desire and his want, to meditate on it all day long.   How many people can actually say that?   I love God’s word, but do I want to meditate on it all day long?  I don’t believe David is saying that he sits cross-legged with his eyes closed meditating on God’s word, but, as he goes about his daily life, he keeps Gods’ word in his mind and at appropriate times does sit and contemplate what the verse/passage that he’s reading means.

98 Your commands are always with me
and make me wiser than my enemies.   Because he meditates on God’s word, he’s memorized portions of it, it gives him an edge against his enemies.   Anytime we focus on what the word of God says, it brings wisdom and insight to us so that when we do come into a confrontation with an adversary, we have an advantage because God gives us insight and wisdom in how to handle the situation.  I don’t think many people truly understand this.   The supernatural ability that God gives us to understand people when we ingrain the word of God into our lives.   It brings us wisdom to know how to answer the tough questions of life, it gives us a background of knowing that there is more to life than the material things.
